Outlook 2003, OE and Address Book

T

Tom

Could someone (ANYONE) please explain to this newbie the difference between
ADDRESS BOOK and OUTLOOK 2003 contacts and how to import ALL available
(viz,, importable) data from Outlook 2003 to OE?

This is really driving me crazy. For some reason the LISTINGS that I have
in Address Book (which presumably is also the database used by MS Word) is
much smaller than the listings in Outlook 2003.

In other words, whereas Mary Johnson appears in OUTLOOK 2003 Contacts, she's
nowhere to be found in Address book. Why is that? And do I rectify that?

Thanks.

So many questions.

The Outlook Address Book is a service within Outlook that displays the
electronic addresses that reside in Outlook's Contacts Folders (i.e., the
*.pst file or on an Exchange mailbox).. There is no actual data in the
Outlook Address Book.

When you invoke the Address Book in Word, it will contain all your Outlook
Contacts since you will need access to both electronic and postal addresses
in Word.

You cannot share your Outlook Contacts with OE by default. However, OE can
be forced to show the Outlook Contacts Folder by changing a registry setting
(http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm).

BUT does this apply to Outook 2003? It's not even mentioned on the site.
Thanks.
