Outlook 2003 - Open Text File Attachment Displays a Blank File

Every email that contains a TXT file, when I open it from Outlook,
notepad displays a blank file even though the file is correct. If I
save the file from Outlook, to the hard drive and then open it it
displays the contents correctly.

Any ideas onhy this could happen and why TXT files are the only
effected attachments.
