The Mac version of Outlook, Entourage, has a very cool way to manually
remove emails from one's POP3 mailserver (might work with Exchange,
too, but I don't know...). Anyway, there's an icon in your email list
that shows whether the mail is still on the server (a little blue star
thingy)...
You click on the star, and you have the choice to remove the message
from the server. (THis is especially cool for if you're checking mail
on two different computers, or on a handheld, and you don't want to
get a particular message or messages the next time you log on with the
different computer... for example, might be a marketing mail, or a
particularly big attachment that I might not want to receive on my
slower home connection.) OK, I know that in the account settings I can
choose to delete from the server when a mail is deleted from the
Deleted Items folder, but I don't want to delete it from my computer,
only from the server.
Anyway, I've searched and searched, and I've yet to discover a way
with the WINDOWS version of Outlook to do the same thing. THe only way
I can remove a mail from the POP server is to go to my ISP's web-based
mail site, and delete it there.
Does anyone know if I'm missing something?
thanks
