outlook 2003 - using email rule, when moving messages to folder, leaving copy behind

since upgrading to Outlook 2003, my rules don't work property anymore. when
i specify a message to "move it to specified folder", Outlook always leaves
behind a copy of the message in the original folder it arrived in.

sounds to me like a bug. anyone know how to fix this?

Add the "delete it" action to the rule.
