Outlook 2003 will not print an HTML message

Having had no difficulty in the past, somehow now Outlook 2003 will not
print an HTML message. It throws up an Internet Explorer Script Error "An
error has occurred in the script on this page ......" and asks if I wish to
continue. Regardless of whether I say yes or no nothing happens.

Can anyone please offer any advice to solve this problem?

Many thanks for the reply Christian.

I tried your suggestion but it did not work and instead gave me the error
message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file"

Can you suggest anything else?

I have performed a repair on Office 2003 and, although I still cannot print
an HTML message, the error message is now different - "A runtime error has
occurred. Do you wish to debug?"

If I answer yes I am presented with a "Just-in-time debugging process" which
does nothing and if I answer no then nothing happens.

Can anyone please offer me assistance to solve this problem?

Christian,

Yes I did. And I have done it again since receiving your response (and I
checked that it was correct) but I get the same error message.

You will see from a subsequent post of mine that I have also run a repair on
my Office 2003 installation but that did not fix my problem either.
However, I now get a different error message - "A runtime error has
occurred. Do you wish to debug?". If I answer yes I am presented with a
"Just-in-time debugging process" which does nothing and if I answer no then
nothing happens.

Do you have any other ideas?

Stan

Try shortening the command to

regsvr32.exe ole32.dll

or lengthening it to

C:\Windows\system32\regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\ole32.dll

Hi Brian,

Many thanks for the tips. The short version worked and afterwards I got the
message "DllRegisterServer in Ole32.dll succeeded". I was then full of
expectation but upon trying to print and HTML message from Outlook 2003 I
got the following:-

1. "A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug? Line: 1625 Error:
Object required"
2. Upon pressing Yes I get a "Just-In-Tine Debugging" dialogue box which
tells me that it intends to use a "New instance of Microsoft Script Editor".
However, when I accept this I am returned to 1 above (the same line 1625!)
and appear to be in a loop!
3. Upon pressing No then nothing happens.

Incidentally, I have rebooted the PC but to no avail and I have uninstalled
my HP printer, rebooted the PC, re-installed the HP printer drivers and
software and none of this helps either. It is important to note that
ordinary text messages do print correctly from Outlook 2003 to my HP
printer.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Stan

Hi All,

I gave up trying to find a solution (several hours work) and have instead
re-built the PC from an image I took a year ago and within 20 minutes the
system was up and running with printing working fine again. I don't know
what caused the problem but I shall now test every MA fix as I apply them to
see whether any of them caused the problem.

Many thanks for you kind assistance.

Regards,

Stan Kay
