outlook 2007 - I lose calendar appoinment with activesync 4.2

If I create an appointment in Outlook 2007, and then sync my Windows Mobile
device, the appointment gets deleted instead of being tranferred to my device?

Also, if someone emails me a meeting request, the entry is immediately
removed from my calendar, and the email is lost.

Please... any ideas?
