Outlook 2007 - keeps deleting latest emails from the inbox

After downloading my emails and closing outlook:
When I reopen Outlook the downloaded emails have disappeared and I can't
locate them anywhere. If there are no new emails it deletes the next ones in
the inbox.

Are they deleted as in ending up in the Deleted Items folder, or is your view
filtered?

View > Current View (should be messages)

Could be a lot of reasons but the most common reason is that you have a
filter applied. What view do you have applied to the Inbox? (View |
Current View...)
