Outlook 2007 Receiving but not sending

I have installed outlook 2007, it receives emails< replies okay but will not
send a new email or forward one.

I have a diagonistic test which blamed HP printers and asked me to set
another make as default. Ihave done this but it makes no difference>

Any suggestions?

Thanks for reply, nothing happens; it sits in outbox even when send/recive is
complete and more emails have come in.
