Outlook 2K will not fetch mail after the first try

When I start Outlook, it fetches mail from my ISP. Susequent fetches result
in "The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server
0x80ccc0f." However, if I run Ethereal and capture the packets I can see
that Outlook is not even trying to contact the mail server. New mail will
send OK but that is SMTP and mail in is POP. I have run the repair for my
Office installation and am patched up to date. This started a few days ago,
and I suspect that a patch may have caused the problem. Office 2000 running
on XPPro sp2. Can anyone help?
