Outlook 6 attacments opening automatically

When I receive mail with a picture attached it is
automatically opened at the bottom of the email. Usually it
is attached as well. How can I get Outlook to stop opening
atumatically. I know that it originally was a hyperlink
that I was supposed to click on to see h picture. It's
annoying as well as potentially dangerous. Thanks
