outlook 97 mail not working

I have set up a new internet mail client for outlook 97
but it does not appear in the Norton antivirus email
client list - nor does it work (outgoing mail from outlook
just sits in the outbox and incoming mail goes to outlook
express)

help! any ideas please?

Perhaps your Norton tool is not compatible with Outlook 97? Check to make
sure your mail server settings are correct. Outlook 97 does not support many
advanced settings such as authenticate before receive and SLA.
