Outlook and Spam Inspector COM add-in

Michael Taylor

Today my Spam Inspector software would not operate. Outlook seems to keep
disabling the COM add-in for reasons I can't fathom. I've checked the event
log and can't see anything related.

I went to the Giant Company web site and there's a notice saying they've
been taken over by Microsoft. All the support links are gone! How do I get
support?

When I re-tick the com add-in for Spam Inspector and press ok, nothing
happens. When I check the setting the tick has been removed.

Has anyone else experienced problems like this?

Thanks
Mike

Sounds odd that your add-in wouldn't work but I'm not sure why as I don't
use the product.
Might want to look into something else...spambayes works well for me, and
it's free.

Thanks Lanwench. I'm now trying Spambayes, going well so far. Before I
switched to it, I tried a repair and and uninstall/install of Spam Inspector
but neither would allow me to enable the COM Add-In with Outlook.
I can't help feeling that MS have some how disabled use of the plug-in now
that they own the product, perhaps because they will be bring out their own
version soon, or maybe i'm just paranoid :)

Thanks for your help,
Mike

I have the exact same problem and I think it began after I loaded the Office
SP3. I have searched for hours on the net looking for a solution. I like
Spam Inspector and it's trained already. Does anyone else know of a solution
to this problem?
