Outlook appearance

How can I change the ugly colour scheme - both the beige
and the blue lining. I went into the office assistant and
typed "appearance" then I clicked on "customize outlook
today" then I clicked on "change background and layout"
It then brought up a help windows that mentions
the "styles area" but I can't find the styles area
anywhere!
