Outlook Express error codes

Matthew Crabbe

Am having problems with an e-mail account on one computer
accessing a mail account. The error messages I have had
come back when trying to access mail using this account
are: 0x800CCC7D, 0x800CCC0E, 0x800CCC79.

Any idea what these mean, and what the remedies might be?

Thanks

7D = The mail server does not support a SSL connection
Check account definition and ensure that the account is not configured for
SSL connectivity.

0E = Failed to connect to server
The connection was dropped for some reason. Dialup or Broadband? If
Dialup, do you have call waiting. Make sure this feature is disabled on the
dialup connection.

79 = Server rejected recipients
The server you are sending thru didn't like who the message was addressed
to. Are you connecting to one ISP and trying to send mail thru another?

Neo,

I get the error 0x800ccc79. you say " 79 = Server rejected recipients
The server you are sending thru didn't like who the message was addressed
to. Are you connecting to one ISP and trying to send mail thru another?"

I don't know what that means, can you explain how to figure it out in lay
man's terms? thanks!
