outlook fails to open

Does it open in safe mode?

Start > Run > outlook.exe /safe
(note the space between outlook.exe and /safe)

If you're using Vista or Windows 7:

Start > Start Search > outlook.exe /safe
(same space)

install updates today, outlook window fails to open.

No error message or anything? Have you tried starting Outlook once with the
/resetnavpane command switch?
