Outlook hangs when attaching files to e-mail

I have a laptop with Windows XP pro that has Outlook 2003 with al
updates on it . Once in awhile when I make a new e-mail and I want t
attach a file in outlook 2003 it will hang when I click to insert
file as an attachment. I have tried to turn off symantec antivirus t
scan incoming and outgoing e-mail but that didn't help. Also I turne
off file indexing on all hard drives but that didn't help. This lapto
does have mapped drive connections on it just incase that helps someon
figure out my problem.Most of the time I get this problem when laptop i
out of office and not joined to the domain. But I was told it ha
happened once or twice in office on domain. If anyone can help pleas
responed ASAP I need all the help I can get...Oh I use a POP3, no
Exchange.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
