Outlook has no valid return email address

R

Roger W. Faulds

As a developer of OUTLOOK VBA, knowing Bill Gates since 1987, I believe that
MS/Outlook has a SEVERE SHORTCOMING.

In order to determine the correct address of the sender of an email OUTLOOK
(via VBA) must reconnect back to the originating sender to obtain a valid
email return address.

My own SPAM blocker is slow due to this deficiency.

I know OUTLOOK can be modified to obtain the address at the time of delivery
of an email message and it would greatly speed of the process.

Also, by verifying the sender (which could be a settable option in OUTLOOK)
to validate the sender at the time of receipt it would eliminate a LOT OF
SPAM.

For example:
Send an email using SENDMAIL with a return address of:
(e-mail address removed).

Outlook will accept it even though it is invalid.

I, and the members of the Metropolitan Real Estate & Investors Association
(a NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZTION) receive a tremendous number of emails from
UNKNOWN or INVALID senders.

Please convey these thoughts and suggestions to the following people in
Microsoft that I know personally:
Mr. William Gates
Mr. Steve Balmer
I also met & personally handled Donald Trump's management of his letters
of credit in 1990-1994, during a time that he was undergoing hard financial
times.

I met Steve Balmer in 1986 (Feb) during a BETA Windows seminar and spoke
with him during a Virtual Memory (Thunking) breakout seminar.

I met Bill in 1988 after he recommended me for a job at Manufacturers
Hanover Trust Bank in New York in 1987.

Thank you very much & I hope to hear from you soon.

By the way,
I was offered a position with Microsoft in 1986 and my EX-WIFE refused to
move to Redmund, WA. Also check out the restaurant "Arnies", on the Edmunds,
Steve enjoyed it, on the Bay, with Salmon & cream cheese, and excellent
Pacific Salmon & Alaskan King Crab & Lobster.

Regards,
Roger W. Faulds
Systems & Internals Specialist since 1985.
