outlook inbox not refreshing

S

steve jones

I have one client on a network we maintain that the inbox
simply won't refresh until I prompt it to do so. All
other clients immediately display a new emial at thetop
of the inbox immediately upon arrival...on this one
machine only I have to perform some action that forces a
screen redraw and "poof" the email appears.

I'm sure this is a setting buried deep in the bowels of
outlook (2000 sr-1), but darned if I can find it.

thanks in advance,

s. jones

Is there a firewall on the client? Try if disabling helps. Remember that
Windows XP has a build-in firewall which can be "configured" at the
networkcard settings. Don't forget to turn on the firewall on again after
you reconfigured it!

I found also on the pc I had this problem on, there was
software, "AT&T Global Dialer" that was part of the image
that was created for ghosting. Once this was uninstalled
and then reinstall via a cd, the inbox performed correctly.
