Outlook is retrieving data - message

Hello,

We get this message "Outlook is retrieving data from
Microsoft Exchange Server 'Exch. server name' ...." every
so often on Outlook 2002 (XP) and with Exchange 2000
server. The O/S is varied between Windows 98 SE and
Windows XP Pro both running Office XP Prof. This slows
down the performance quite a bit and on some cases it
freezes up Outlook and the user can't do anything. Any
ideas ? Thanks.
