Outlook Menus went nuts

My Outlook 2000 Menus went nuts. I have different or double menus depending
if I am reading mail, writing mail etc. Menus are OK in main Outlook this
is happening just when reading/writing mail. When I go to customize menus I
have multiple "Standard" entries. The main File, Edit, View etc are gone
and I can edit the menus to add them but then I have double menus and they
seem to come and go. I have been unable to fix this using Reapir or rest or
Detect and repair. This is driving me crazy.

Thanks,

Try renaming your outcmd.dat file to outcmd.old while Outlook is closed.
Outlook will rebuild the default toolbars the next time you open it. If
your changes to the toolbars "stick" after doing this, then you know it was
the outcmd.dat file causing the problem. Make sure to make a backup of the
new outcmd.dat file so you can restore it if you ever run into the same
problem again.

Note: If you're using Windows 2000 or XP, you'll need to search in hidden
and system folders to find the outcmd.dat file.
