Outlook not cleanly shutting down

Just checked my task manager today and I had 6 instances of Outlook.exe
running without the mapi service. Wife's also been complaining about her
not getting email. Ended all the instances, and low-and-behold she had 20
emails waiting. All service packs for both the OS and Office are installed.
Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem so your not alone. Wish I knew how to fix it.
