My main email isn't working (@shaw.ca) because of this error. I have no idea
what it means but it's been going on for the past few days (a week almost).

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'shawmail', Server:
'127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port: 5100, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Looks like an error in configuring the account with your mail server.
Re-read your mail service provider' (ISP or your employer) specific
instructions. Pay particular attion to the server name, type of login
(secure or not), etc.

have you got Email scanning enabled in your AV? The server should NOT be
127.0.0.1

The "127.0.0.1" is suspicious. Do you have an anti-virus or anti-spam
scanner integrated with your mail? If so, disable it and reset your account
settings.
