Outlook now strips my attachments

How can I avoid this from happening?

Wow, finally got around to doing some updates I see.

Tell the sender to rename or add an extension onto the filename for the
attachment. Instead of sending somefile.exe, have them send somefile.exx.
That won't trigger the attachment security that relies simply on the
filetype. You rename the file to whatever should be the correct extension.

Otherwise, take a look at
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm. I got the
AttachmentOptions utility from a link there that add a tab panel to the
options where I can easily select or add filetypes. Also provides an option
to modify the registry settings that let me read all e-mail as text-only and
to minimize Outlook to a system tray icon.
