Outlook send errors

I am running Office professional XP but Outlook will not
send emails. The error message says that it cannot find
the smtp server. The smtp address details are correct
and my service provider has told me to reinstall
Outlook. The problem is I don't have the XP disk
anymore. It's been lost. I've bought Outlook 2003. Can
I load a seperate version of Outlook or will this cause
problems as there will still be a version running as part
of Office? If the answer is no shall I just attempt a
repair? Can I do this without the disk? I'd appreciate
some advice.
