Recently I have encountered a difficult situation with my Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013’s Outlook program.
Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, I cannot send messages from Outlook on my desktop PC. I can receive messages without any problems but sending messages always results in errors and stuck in the Outbox.
So I thought maybe this is only an issue with my desktop PC and then started my laptop (which is rarely used but only when traveling). The same problem persists on my laptop. Receiving is good but sending not.
Then I tried on my Samsung Galaxy tablet and everything works very well, both receiving and sending. In fact I sent a test message from my Galaxy to my desktop and it was received on my desktop Outlook.
The next thing I tried after exhausting all searches for this issue and following all the recommendations I found during this exhaustive search, including the Office repair, was to install Mozilla Thunderbird on my desktop PC (hereafter referred to as TBird).
TBird works perfectly, I can receive and send messages on my PC through using TBird. When I send messages from TBird they instantly send and then show up in my Outlook send folder while working on the same desktop PC.
I have chosen not to do my November Microsoft Windows 10 Professional OS updates because when I do I lose all desktop and taskbar icon images for the programs that I use regularly. This causes me to have to go to my Macrium Reflect backup image to get back these icon images. I do not know if keeping OS updates from happening could be the cause so I will wait to do updates until the end of December and see if the same icon disappearing act repeats.
Does anyone have any idea about these two issues (Outlook and OS updates)? Are they possibly related? Does anyone have any viable solution?
I have become quite attached to TBird so if an answer presents itself then I will use Outlook but will keep TBird up to date in case of future failures.
And finally I just want to give a big thumbs down to Microsoft.
