Using Outlook 2003 it would be very helpful to know if a file attachment has
been saved or removed from a message. If _saved_, where was it saved to? And
if it was _removed_ some details like the filename and perhaps the size. The
reason being when cleaning out mail folders, we often wonder if we saved the
attachment or not, consequently we keep a lot of emails with large files
attached, which wastes storage capacity & quotas. Re: the file details for
_removed_ files, this would be great for freeing up space in the sent items
folder. Namely, we would not have to keep sent items with the file attached
as proof of transmission. Instead we could remove the attachment and still
have a backup that you did, in fact, send the message with such & such file
attached.
I would foresee this info being displayed in the Reading Pane between the
sender and recipient names. ?Header info bar (not sure if that’s an official
name??) in other words along with the “You replied on…†“You forwarded this
message…†“This message was converted to plain text†etc. Where you can click
to find related messages...
Thanks!
