Outlook to Entourage to Outlook

Hi,

Really sorry if this is something thats been asked a thousand times
already but hopefully this is a different slant on it...

I need to get rather a lot of data out of a stand alone (that is not
connected to an Exchange Server) PC running Outlook into a Mac running
Entourage 2004.

I have been using Outlook2Mac with mixed results. The Contacts and
Emails are fine but the Calendar entries are a mess. I have over 9000 I
need to import and it the way of importing them in to Entourage it
seems is to open each one individually! If I was importing the data
into Address Book it would do it in one simple file...

Any ideas...?

Also, I may need a contingency to be able to get all of the data back
out of the Entourage on the Mac and back onto the Outlook on the PC,
anyone any ideas on transferring the other way...?

Finally, anybody got experience with the PST import tool that Microsoft
has made available...? Does it only work with Outlook 2001 on the Mac
or will it work with the PC Outlook too? Could I get the data out of
Outlook on the PC into 2001 on the MAc and then PST import from there
or will I experience strange things and problems...?

Sorry for all the questions but hopefully someone will have the
solution...!

Thanks in advance,

Steve.

Yep, it's only for Outlook 2001 for Mac.

Do youhave an Exchange account ??? You could have Outlook send all the
data there and retreive it in Entourage.

My normal email account is a Yahoo POP3 based one but I could obtain a
temporary Exchange account in order to do the transfer...

I'm cool with setting the Exchange options in Entourage and making sure
all calendar items sync with the server but wouldn't know anything
about setting this up on the PC. Is it pretty straightforward...?

Thanks for your help on this.

It is. It usually goes on quite smoothly. You select that you want to
create an Exchange account, enter your user name and the name of the
server (not even necessarely the addres) and it does the rest for you.
