Outlook Today messages

Running Outlook 2002 SP2 on XP Home.

On the 'Outlook Today' screen is a pane where 'Messages' from various
folders can be configured to display. I'm curious, other than the obvious
'Inbox' which shows unread messages, what other kinds of messages would show
here? I'm currently showing Calendar, Contacts & Tasks (in addition to the
Inbox) and don't think I've ever seen anything other than a zero there.
Thanks!

Whatever you want to show on the page. I put my most often used folders on
the page - Personal, Work Mail, Helpers, etc. I also put a couple of Public
Folders.

Hmmm... let's try again. I understand that, but by default Outlook is
including things like 'Calendar' and 'Contacts' in the Messages pane of the
Outlook Today screen. Under what circumstances would my Contacts show a
message count of something other than zero? For example, when the Inbox is
included in the Message pane, the message count there is for any unread
email messages. What is the equivalent for Contacts or Calendar?
