hi all,
this one's special:
i'm unable to find any mail items after a certain date (11/08) with the
"find" tool. i'm using outlook XP (2002), exchange 2000 and Windows XP
pro. here's what i've found:
- if another user on another workstation opens my mailbox, either in a
separate outlook profile or as an additional mailbox, the problem
persists. so it seems to follow the box. but:
- if i open another user's (who doesn't have the problem) mailbox
within my outlook (as a different profile, or as an additional mailbox)
i have the same problem with their box as well!
the only thing i've done on 11/08 is open another user's mailbox in my
outlook who was having the same problem. so it appears as if his
mailbox "infected" my workstation. but the problem isn't local to my
workstation: it follow the mailbox!
before all of this troubleshooting, i did the following:
- exported the mailbox with exmerge, deleted and recreated the mailbox,
then imported with exmerge
- uninstalled office completely
- rebooted and reinstalled
- applied SP3 (failed...already installed, probably included in the
office source files)
- opened another user's mailbox (who i knew didn't have the problem) in
my outlook before doing anything further, and still saw the same
problem, still only with the specific date
this is giving me a terrible pain in my nether regions. HELP!!!
