Is there anyway to hide names on a distribution list as to
avoid broadcasting e-mail addresses, or names on the e-
mail list for those receipients who want privacy?

Put the DL in the BCC field. You may need to put your own address in the
To: field -- a message without any addresses in To: can cause problems (some
ISPs reject them, and some recipients filter them out).
