Outlook2003-Exchange2003 Resolution

I can't seem to find information about what may have
changed on our internal email network. Outlook stopped
sending/receiving email, however, I was able to use OWA
to check email. I re-created a profile and made sure I
did not use the FQN of the exchange server - and then
everything worked. My question, what sort of DNS or WINS
or other type of resoltuion issue may have happened for
me to recreate a profile. Any suggestions or comments
are appreciated. Thanks. -j
