overriding the 'modified' date when archiving

I've been trying to archive my old mail, which now runs in
size to greater than 5 mb (my allotted network drive
space) to the extent where, somehow, I've managed to
update the modified date to today's date.

As some of these message are still required, is there
anyway of resetting the modified date, or overriding the
use of this date to determine the age of the message for
the purposes of an archive.

Hi Joe,

Unfortunately, Microsoft Outlook uses the Modified Date exclusively for
determining if messages meet Archive criteria.
Messages can be inadvertently have Modified Date changed by moving,
antivirus scanning, backup software, etc.

The best alternative in this case would be to open the Archive.pst from File

Open > Personal Folders File (.pst), or File > Open > Outlook Data File in

Outlook 2002, and manually move items from your mailbox to the Archive file.
Another alternative would be to create a separate .pst file, and manually
move items into the new .pst file, to reduce the size of the mailbox.
