Page Numbering 4a, 4b, 4c

Hello,
I have a 10 Page Word 2000 document
I would like to number the pages as follows...
Numbered pages 1 throuugh 6 as 1,2...6
I would like to number the remaining pages 7a, 7b, 7c, etc.

Possible?

Yes. You will need to start a new section at the end of page six. In the
new section format the page numbering as alpha. Insert the 7 as plain text.

Greg, if the OP wanted to go back to the original numbering--so
that page 8 followed page 7d--what would she/he have to do?
