Pagenumber in word

I have a worddocument that is written with word2000. When the document is opened with word2002 pagenumbers are not shown correct. All pages have pagenumber 0. The fieldcode {PAGE} is used for pagenumbering
My guess is that is has something to do with a the template. Becaue if I create a new document page numbers are correct.
