I've found that both the Palm Sync as well as the Missing Sync work well,
though I did initially have problems that had largely to do with a software
application my carrier (Verizon) includes with its phones.
Are you a Verizon customer? If so, the you may want to completely disable
"Wireless Sync". For some reason, it seems to interfere with Palm
synchronization when used with Outlook/Entourage.
The upside of dumping it: Verizon Wireless Sync is slow, uses bandwidth
that you're paying for (or so I understand it), and interferes with
Entourage sync.
The downside of dumping it: Wireless Sync effectively stores all of your
Palm's information on Verizon servers, so you have a remote backup. This
doesn't bother me since I don't want my information stored on their servers
anyway.
If you're not a Verizon customer, then I suspect you have an older
third-party application that's interfering with the synchronization.
Question: Does your Palm make the connection to your Mac, and it's simply
that the synchronization process hangs? Or does it not establish the
connection at all? Therein may also lie part of your problem.
