Palm/Entourage Conduit Syncing

I installed the new update for Entourage 2004 to sync with my palm. I am
running OSX 3.4. The installation was successful, but I can not open the
Entourage Conduit to change the settings. Does anyone know why this is
happening? Because of this my Palm will not sync.

I am also i trouble. I downloaded the file from MS and when i tried to
install it got the error msg<microsoft component plugin was not found>
Then the install fails.

What version of Entourage are you using? If you're using Entourage 2004,
you need to install the new version of the conduit, located in
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Handheld Sync Installer

If you're using Entourage X, download and install the latest Office X
updates, which are 10.1.2, 10.1.4, and 10.1.5 (10.1.3 is unnecessary).
They¹re available from Microsoft.

Then re-install the Handheld Synchronization software that you downloaded
from the Microsoft site.

When I installed the most up to date software from MS. The conduit
settings not appearing when I double-clicked on the Entourage Consuit
in HotSync Manager.

In the end, I did two things to resolve it:

* Two versions of the Entourage Database Daemon were listed in my
Login (or accounts in system preferences) Items (the v.X and 2004). I
deleted them both from Login Items and re-added just the version from
the Office 2004 install (found in the Office sub-folder). (Sloppy
install from the CD, Microsoft).

* I deleted the old Office v.X installation (the uninstall option in
the Office 2004 folder, in additional tools).

Tried finding the site "/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional
Tools/Handheld Sync Installer" but can't locate it. I have got
Entourage 2004

It's not a "site". It's a location on your computer. It means to look in
the Applications folder on the root (/) of your startup disk where you'll
find a Microsoft Office 2004 folder. Inside that is an Additional
Tools folder, and inside that is the Handheld Sync Installer . Double-click
it.
