This is very very strange. A user of mine (a Dean at my university) relies
heavily on his calendar his Palm Tungsten. He's been successfully sync'ing
the Palm device to our Exchange server using Entourage and the Handheld
Syncing Update for several weeks. The Calendar and Contacts lists in
Entourage sync'ed to his Palm great.
But last night (just before time to leave) he tried to run a sync. After
running it, his Contacts looked fine, but on both Entourage and his
Tungstun, his Calendar was wiped clean! Hundreds of past and future events
simply weren't listed in either location.
I had him log on to a Windows machine in our office and start up Outlook
2002 to connect to the server. We did a Recover Deleted Items on the Windows
machine, but none of those disappearing calendar events were there.
My Exchange admin tells me this couldn't possibly happen, because the server
is set up to hold all deleted items for 14 days. But yesterday afternoon,
the dean had all his appointments. After the sync, he has none. They are
nowhere to be found on the Palm or on his Exchange account.
Does anyone else have a similar experience, or better yet, a solution for
this problem? His secretary is manually entering the data we have on-hand,
but it's definitely incomplete.
And yes, we plan to get some SD cards and install BackupBuddy very soon.
Thanks,
Randy Sims
