I have a Palm Tungsten and I just upgraded to a Treo 600. I can not get
information to Hot Sync. Both use version 4. Any suggestions?
Just gone through the same experience. I couldn't get the Treo to sync
initially, but after doing some thinking and putting the thoughts into
practice, this is what I did to get it working:
1. Do a final synch of your Tungsten or other Palm device to Entourage.
Install the software from the Treo software CD. This will update the
version of Palm Desktop you have on your computer.
2. Download latest version of Handheld Sync Installer from
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/ and install it. Note: It will deactivate the
Palm conduits that prevent the Treo from synching with Entourage.
3. Set the Entourage Conduit (in Hotsync Manager) to Entourage overwrites
Handheld on each aspect of the Entourage Conduit, checking the box "Do once
then synchronize" as well. This will copy all info from Entourage to your
new Treo. The Do Once then Synchronize means Entourage will overwrite the
Handheld for just this sync, then the info in both will be synchronized next
time.
From there, everything works perfectly, at least so far in my experience.
