Partial import from Mail app

I have a problem with the import from Mail script provided as part of
the value pack. There are a couple of other posts from people who
have had the same problem. The problem is that the import seems to
complete sucessfully, but not all the messages (or mailboxes) are
imported. In my case it has imported about 80 of 100 folders and what
looks like about 90% of my messages (what's odd is that some messages
that were in a subfolder, i.e. Marketing->WWW Forms, have appeared in
the parent folder, i.e. Marketing).

I have gone through the correct install process, i.e. installed the
Value Pack, then updated through 10.1.5.

Any thoughts on how I can import. One poster suggested a script that
would export to .mbx files that could be directly imported into
Entourage. Anyone know of such a script?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

That's actually what the Import from Mail script does, except it doesn't
save the MBOX files; instead, it automatically imports them. You could just
do the same thing manually by dragging folders manually from the Mail
Mailboxes drawer onto the Desktop, and then dragging them onto the Entourage
Dock icon.

I just tried that, first with one of the folders that had not been
imported, then with one that had been imported fine. I get the same
result both times, when I drop the folder on the Entourage dock icon
Entourage pops up a dialog asking if I want to import the messages
into a new folder, with two choices, "import" and "cancel". I click
on import and nothing seems to happen. No new folder appears, no
messages are imported anywhere that I can see. I assume I should see
a new folder with a name the same as the <folder>.mbx appearing under
the "On My Computer" tree.

What seems odd is that even a folder that worked properly before will
not import now, so I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas?

Ok, I've fixed this. The problem seemed to be related to the
recursion through the folders causing some operations to not finish
before another one was started. My "fix" is ugly, but effective, I
modded the "import from mail" script to throw up prompts before
creating a new folder, or importing a new file.

I have a fixed version of the script if anyone is interested. Please
feel free to email me directly.
