Partially lost email after recovery of deleted archive .pst file

My friend deleted her 200MB archive.pst file (foolishly).
She was able to recove the file using recovery software,
however all the email after 2002 is gone! Any suggestions
on what might be going on? She is using Outlook 2002
software on an XP machine. I can also be reached at
(e-mail address removed)
