Password for Back End Database

Part of our reasoning on creating a front end/back end
split database structure was to make the tables a
little 'harder' to get to. The problem is, if we put a
password on the Back End, the Front End can not get to the
tables. I'm sure there's some VBA code available that can
be applied to the front end that will open the back end
using the password. Does anyone know what it is, or where
I can find it?

Thank you!

The database password is easily cracked. I suggest:

1. Put the backend in a hidden share (\\server\share$ rather than
\\server\share)
2. Put an autoexec macro in the backend that throws up a message telling
them how to properly access the data, and then quits.
3. Disable the shiftkey bypass in the backend.

If you do decide to stick with a database password, when you link the
frontend, you'll be prompted for the password. Once the tables are linked
you won't be asked again.
