password for entourage

I cannot find the setting to to create a password for my Entourage. If anyone opens this program, they have access to all my emails. HELP!!! Where are these settings?

There is no account-specific password for Entourage. You could instead set
up multiple user accounts on your Mac.

up multiple user accounts on your Mac.

Note, however, for this solution to be effective, you must set up your Mac
NOT to login automatically to particular user account on startup but instead
to require selecting an account and requiring a password. Otherwise,
creating multiple accounts doesn't help.

Hi Michael,
I do not think that I phrased my question correctly. On one of my computers, I have to log into Entourage with a password to even open it and have internet access. On my lab tab, i simply open Entourage and the program goes into internet to get my emails. How do I set up a log in passoword. I have of course compared the settings of the two computers and do not see any differences. Perhaps, i am just blind. Hopefully, you can help me out.

Hi Linda,

I'm slightly confused, as there is no option to define a log-in password.
Entourage always opens without a password. The only setting that you can
change is Tools>Accounts, where you can uncheck the "Save password in my Mac
OS keychain" for your account (double-click your account in the Accounts
window and make sure the Account Settings tab is active). This means that
you need to enter your password every time you check for emails; however,
you can still open Entourage without any type of password protection.

If anything's unclear, just post back. I would have given you the menu
commands in German, but I haven't used the German version of Office in such
a long time.

thanks alot. This is (I think) exactly what I need. It is getting on to midnight....so I will try tomorrow and let u know if I am successful. Appreciate your help. Immerhin...you can speak some german!!
