Password or username incorrect!

I have recently moved my novell network to windows. In
the process I have changed from groupwise to Outlook
Express. When setting the new users up in POP3 the
password is linked to active directory. MY PROBLEM is
only about 15% of the time. When I migrate a new user over
to the windows server, outlook express will come back and
tell me that the user name or password are incorrect when
i know that they are not. The specs on all these machines
are as follows: Windows XP, Norton Corp., Word Perfect9,
Outlook express 5 & 6. Have any of you guys heard of an
easy solution...........
