password-protect identity? Entourage Mac 2004

Is it too much to ask to be able to password-protect my identity?

I understand that you can switch user accounts for the entire desktop,
but that's much more than I need to do, and I find it to be disruptive
to my workflow.

I want to simply lock my email so others can't snoop in it without me
knowing.

At the same time, I WOULD like to set up one account that my assistant
can always have access to.

Seems like a simple enough thing, but apparently not....

So enable fast user switching - then you won't have to log out, and
will be able to switch between user accounts at-will.
