Password-protecting Entourage launch

C

Craig Deutsch

Is there a way to require a password when launching Entourage? I have a
nosy roommate. Yes, I can log off, but that's not quite as convenient as
leaving other apps open and simply entering a password to launch Entourage.

I don't think it's do-able, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks.

No It would never be secure. Log out. Or use Fast User Switching if you're
in OS 10.3; you can switch to Login Window... It's a lot less trouble
because you don't have to save open files or quit applications. It takes 1
second.

I second this. Even if you have only one user account on your machine, in
10.3 you can still show the fast user switching menu. It will then have an
option for going to the login screen.

You can also set your screen saver to activate when idling in n minutes.
Then go to "System Preference>Security" and check "Require password to
wake up computer from sleep or screen saver".
