Paste Special Bug in Word 2003 When White Space Option Off

J

Jamie Carper

Problem

When using VBA to copy and paste special ( an Excel image to Word, if the
"White Space" option is turned OFF, the image is rendered out of alignment
with the text.

Conditions

.PasteSpecial DataType:=wdPasteMetafilePicture
.ShapeRange.ScaleWidth 0.54, msoCTrue, msoScaleFromTopLeft
.ShapeRange.ScaleHeight 0.54, msoCTrue, msoScaleFromTopLeft
.ShapeRange.WrapFormat.Type = wdWrapSquare

Solution

Programatically set White Space option ON prior to paste.
(or check the box for Tools\Options\View\White Space Between Pages)

Note: This problem does not show up under similar testing conditions in Word
2002.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?SmFtaWUgQ2FycGVy?=,
Note: This problem does not show up under similar testing conditions in Word

And yet, the problem of graphics positioning does exist in Word 2002, as well.
I documented it quite thoroughly in the German "Word Profibuch" a few years
ago.

Can you post your documentation again or direct me to your post.

I have tried repeated times to duplicate the bug in Word 2002 but cannot.

In short, if white space isn't being displayed, and you try to
position a graphic (using VBA) into an area included in the
suppressed white space, it won't end up where you intended.
