Pasting a Word table directly into the body of an email

Hi,

I have a problem where I attempt to paste a word table into an email. The story goes like this...
The sender sends me an email with an attachment that opens in Word as a table in a .doc file. I then need to populate the table with data and then paste into the body of an "entourage" email (not attachment) and return to the sender for further data entry. I have HTML switched on, though the data when pasted loses the table formating and is un-editable. The only way in which I can have it look the same, is if I "paste special" , which is of course not what I am after! On a standard windows PC there is no issue; so it appears as if there is a communication problem between mac Word and Entourage? Anyone know of a way around the problem?

With regards,

Pat

Hi Pat,

Entourage's HTML creation engine is really weak, and it doesn't support the
creation of tables. What you can do, however, if Entourage is set as your
default e-mail application, is to modify the table in Word and then hit
File>Send to>Mail Recipient (as HTML). A new mail message will be created,
with the content of the Word document in the e-mail body. Note that you
can't modify this message anymore, and you can't add further attachments.

That being said, I would strongly advise against this practice, as it can be
much more difficult for your recipient to get the table contents out of the
e-mail message to process it. The best solution is indeed to save the
attachment to your hard drive, modify it and then attach it to the reply.

Dear Microsoft. Why does Entourage have so many fewer features that
are common in Outlook? To name a few:
* Use of categories
* How to enter addresses in email
* Simple HTML tables in email body
* Etc.

Why can't Entourage be Outlook for Mac? If there are features that
are Mac specific, add them. But, why oh why would MSFT issue an
email / calendar program that is LESS powerful than it's other
program? (OK, maybe that is a self evident question, but it is still
annoying.) I am a recent PC convert and if I ever switched back to PC
it would be because of differences between Entourage and Outlook.
