Pause to the Desktop

I am making my first Powerpoint training presentation using PP 2003. I
would like to randomly pause the presentation and return to the desktop
so I can do alive demonstration of some other program features. Is
this possible and if so how ?

If you have timed animations pressing the "S" key will pause the timings.
You can hold down the "Flying Window" key on your keyboard and click "D".
Release both and it takes you back to your desktop. Holding down the ALT
key and pressing TAB twice takes you back to the slide show. Pressing "S"
again will restart the last timed event. If you don't have timed animations
or transitions you can skip the "S" steps.
