PDF conversion degrades picture quality

Newsetter photos which look clear and sharp in Publisher 2003 lose sharpness
and look like they have a grid pattern superimposed on them when converted to
PDF format. I've tried low and hi resolution conversions with both Acrobat
and PrimoPDF and the results don't change.

Can anyone help please?

I use both Acrobat and Primo and have no problems with photos degrading.
Which version of Acrobat are you using? When creating the .pdf with Primo,
are you using the print or screen option?
