people's schedules fail to show while setting up calendars

otto

I'm connecting to an Exchange server and all mail functionality is
there, with the exception of showing people/invitees' schedules while
setting up an appointment. It shows the "no information" dark grey bar
for all, including myself. This information shows well if I run Outlook
on a Windows system, so it's not an account specific restriction.

Anybody know if it's an Exchange permission issue that directly affects
Entourage (11.2.1)? Any workaround?

Thank you,

Hi otto!

In your account settings (Tools menu --> Accounts --> your Exchange
account --> Advanced), what do you have listed for your Public Folders
server? The default should be something like "server.doman.com/public/".
And most likely from within your network, you won't have to have the SSL
setting selected.

Hope this helps! bill

hi Bill, much appreciated that you've taken the time to help.
My "Public Folder" field is empty by default. I have written in the
name of my exchange server with /public path to no avail. Is there any
way to get that information from Outlook that I can then write in this
field? I think this is the reason of the problem but have no easy way
to correct it until I know what server name and path to use.

Hi otto!

I'm not aware of any way to glean this information from Outlook because
it uses a different connection protocol from Entourage. Your Exchange
administrator may be able to assist you, but typically this would be the
same server as your own email server. It's possible that the default
path has been changed from "/public/" to something else. Be sure to use
the fully qualified name "server.domain.com/public/" instead of just its
name "server".

hello Bill,
I'm wondering if this will be at all possible at this point. Entourage
explicitly indicates that it expects a DAV based server to fetch its
public area. I have found a server the provides the Web Outlook Access
service, but it doesn't appear to support DAV since I don't get any
data, not even subfolders. Where would I find out what requirements are
needed for the public area's accessibility from Entourage? Isn't this
an issue for other Entourage <--> Exchange server users?
In all I have been able to find in Mactopia is that it works but never
once they mention of potential connectivity issues.
Thanks for hearing me up.
